Bridge the Gap Benefit Concert: Community Supporting Community

Famous English poet, William Shakespeare said, “If music be the food of love, play on.”

In many ways, communities are standing together to support one another and spread hope during this global pandemic. Noticeably, from the service industry.

Minneapolis-based event management company, Vēmos, has partnered with local restaurant and music venue, Icehouse, to host a virtual concert called Bridge the Gap produced by Feedback.

“In Minnesota, nearly 50,000 hospitality workers have been laid off in the last few weeks due to COVID-19,” said Whitney Larson, Co-Founder and President of Vēmos. “It’s devastating to our industry, and we want to do what we can to help bridge the gap many in the industry are facing during this crisis.”

Bridge the Gap is a three hour virtual benefit concert.

Following CDC protocols at the venue, artists will perform solo with full sanitation between each set.

With the participation of local artists, including headliners Gabe Douglas of 4ontheFloor and Pavielle, Vēmos and the Icehouse have a goal to sell 10,000 tickets.

The virtual concert is designed to raise awareness and amplify the needs within the service industry.

“We are honored to be a part of this wonderful mission to support, not only our own employees, but all those in the hospitality industry who are struggling during these tough times,” said Brian Liebeck, Co-Owner of Icehouse.

Ticket proceeds from Bridge the Gap will be donated to The North Stands.

The North Stands is a campaign created to help raise funds for a stipend program to support those in the food and beverage industry who have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
